# Show what an appliance package includes and who confirms it.

An appliance specification page separates supplied categories, buyer-provided items, optional selections and unresolved scope. Tie each public statement to the applicable selection record and room. Label pictured equipment separately from confirmed inclusions. Keep product details and related plan coordination with responsible project reviewers before approving the public package summary.

## Which categories are supplied?

Begin with a generic category list for the applicable project. Name the room and the appliance category before describing the package. A kitchen list should not silently become a whole-house list. A reference to laundry equipment should not imply that every pictured utility-room item is supplied.

Separate supply responsibility from selection status. A category can be assigned to the builder while its final selection remains unresolved. A buyer-selected item can still need a confirmed supply assignment. Keep those questions in different fields so neither answer substitutes for the other.

Use the labels your approved records support. Supplied, buyer-provided, optional and unresolved describe different scope conditions. Do not assign a condition from habit or from the previous project. If a record does not identify responsibility, mark it unresolved before drafting public copy.

| Generic category | Scope label to confirm | Separate selection question |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Cooking equipment | Supplied, buyer-provided, optional or unresolved | Which approved project selection applies? |
| Refrigeration | Supplied, buyer-provided, optional or unresolved | Does the record confirm a selection or only a proposal? |
| Dishwashing equipment | Supplied, buyer-provided, optional or unresolved | Which room and revision does the entry cover? |
| Laundry equipment | Supplied, buyer-provided, optional or unresolved | Has responsibility been recorded separately from the image? |
| Other documented category | Use only a status supported by the record | Who confirms the category belongs in this package? |

This table is a review prompt, not an inclusion list. Remove categories that do not apply. Add a category only when your project record establishes it. Do not publish the table with every supplied box checked because the page needs to look complete.

Connect the category list to your [standard specifications page](/articles/builder-websites/standard-specs-page/). That page carries the broader scope labels. The appliance page should explain the specific room and package boundaries without creating a competing specification.

## What is only pictured?

Review each proposed image against the category list. Decide whether it shows confirmed project selections, a proposed package, staged equipment or an unresolved condition. A finished room photograph should not supply the missing answer about who provides the equipment.

If the record establishes staging, label the image as staged. If a rendering shows a proposed arrangement, describe it as proposed. When the image status is unknown, request confirmation before using it to illustrate a package inclusion. Do not invent a staging label to avoid that review.

Keep captions tied to the photographed project. A completed kitchen can show a useful arrangement without defining your current standard package. The [project gallery page guide](/articles/builder-websites/project-gallery-pages-that-sell/) explains how a caption connects a visible feature with its scope and approved decision record.

W3C recommends context-sensitive text alternatives for informative images in its [informative images tutorial, Overview and Example 2](https://www.w3.org/WAI/tutorials/images/informative/). Use the image's information purpose to guide that text. The tutorial does not verify a pictured appliance, a selection or installation suitability.

Describe only the information the approved image contributes. Do not hide a package qualification in the text alternative while the visible caption implies inclusion. Give the buyer the relevant scope label in visible copy beside the image.

### How should you handle mixed image evidence?

A single room image may contain several categories with different statuses. Record each category separately in the private sheet. If the caption cannot explain the distinctions clearly, choose a different image or limit the caption to the documented feature.

Review nearby text as part of the same reading experience. A heading that promises “the included package” can contradict a carefully limited caption beneath it. Check the heading, introductory sentence and category list together before approving the image placement.

## Which selection record governs?

Ask the responsible project role to identify the applicable approved selection record. Do not decide precedence from a file name, a recent email or an attractive rendering. Where records conflict, keep the public statement on hold until the responsible reviewer resolves the conflict.

Record the evidence revision beside each category. Separate a proposed package from a confirmed project selection. A proposal can help prepare a buyer conversation, but it should not appear as a confirmed inclusion. The public page should state only the approved scope.

### What belongs in a copyable appliance package sheet?

Copy these fields into your internal review document. This is an original editorial worksheet, not a product specification or an installation approval. Use one row per room and category. Repeat a category when its supply responsibility differs between rooms.

```
Appliance package sheet
Room:
Appliance category:
Supply responsibility:
Selection status:
Evidence revision:
Coordination owner:
Public caption:
```

Enter the role responsible for confirming coordination rather than guessing a person's name. Keep the actual product identifiers in controlled project records. Public examples can use generic categories without publishing brands, models, serial information or private buyer selections.

In the public caption field, draft one sentence supported by that row. If supply is confirmed but selection is pending, preserve both conditions. Do not use a completed caption as evidence that the underlying selection has been approved.

1. Collect the applicable specification and approved selection records.

2. List each room and appliance category.

3. Confirm supply responsibility separately from selection status.

4. Record the evidence revision for each row.

5. Send unresolved product and plan questions to the responsible project roles.

6. Match proposed images to the confirmed category records.

7. Approve captions and the package summary against the same evidence revision.

Keep a private note of unresolved questions outside the public caption field. A blank coordination owner means you still need an assignment. It does not authorize the writer to infer that the supplier, designer or buyer owns every related decision.

When a selection changes, check all public references to that category. The same package may appear in a project description, image caption and general specifications summary. Review the repeated statement wherever it appears rather than updating only the newest page.

## Who coordinates related work?

Ask the responsible project roles to check the actual product data against the applicable plans and approved scope. Product identity, dimensions, installation instructions and required connections are review inputs. This article supplies no technical requirements or confirmation that a product fits.

Ask who checks related layouts, service information and any affected project selections. Record the coordinating role in the worksheet. An appliance supply assignment does not establish responsibility for every adjacent item. Keep each unresolved boundary visible to the project reviewer.

Do not publish installation instructions copied from memory or from another appliance category. Leave technical conclusions with qualified project review. When the supporting information has not been supplied, say that coordination remains unresolved in the private sheet.

The [custom builder website pages guide](/guides/custom-builder-website-pages/) connects specifications with plans and project examples. Use that structure to place the public summary. Keep technical coordination inside the project review process, rather than asking the website to resolve it.

### What does a fictional package review look like?

Consider a fictional, unnamed project created only for this example. Its invented approved schedule identifies a supplied cooking category in the kitchen. It assigns laundry equipment to the buyer. A second kitchen category appears only in a proposed selection note.

The first worksheet row lists kitchen, cooking equipment and builder-supplied responsibility. Its selection remains unresolved because the fictional approved schedule confirms supply only. Its evidence revision refers to that schedule. The coordination owner remains unassigned because no responsible role has been provided. Product identity and technical suitability remain unknown.

The second row lists laundry room, laundry equipment and buyer-provided supply. The selection remains unresolved. The third row lists kitchen and refrigeration, with supply unresolved and selection proposed. No brand, model, availability, dimensions or installation condition is invented.

Fictional public excerpt: The example's approved schedule identifies supplied cooking equipment in the kitchen and buyer-provided laundry equipment. The final cooking selection remains unresolved. Refrigeration remains a proposed selection with supply responsibility unconfirmed. The pictured arrangement does not establish additional package inclusions.

This excerpt demonstrates scope wording only. The missing coordination owner still needs resolution before an actual project page receives final approval. Do not reuse the fictional responsibilities as a default for your own projects.

## What belongs in the public package summary?

Publish the applicable room, generic category, confirmed scope label and selection boundary. Give the buyer a clear explanation of how project selections receive confirmation. Keep unapproved product details, technical instructions and private selection records out of the summary.

Check advertising claims against evidence before approval. The FTC says advertising must be truthful and non-misleading in its [Truth In Advertising guidance](https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/topics/truth-advertising). That guidance does not approve an appliance package, establish a project inclusion or prescribe this worksheet.

Read the package summary as a buyer seeing it without the internal notes. Can the reader tell which categories are supplied and which remain unresolved? Does a nearby image imply more than the sentence confirms? Return any mismatch to the reviewer before publication.

For account-dependent equipment questions, use the [technology scope register](/articles/builder-websites/smart-home-specification-page-content/). Keep device supply, service dependency and account responsibility separate. Do not describe a connected function merely because an appliance appears in a photograph.

During the [Owned website stage](/process/owned-website/), preserve the approved summary with its evidence revision and review owner. Publish the readable boundary, not the private folder. The [builder website article collection](/articles/builder-websites/) places this package page alongside the other public specification topics.

## What else should you ask about appliance specification pages?

### Does a pictured appliance belong in the included package?

A pictured appliance does not establish package inclusion. Check the applicable approved record for that room and category. Label staged or proposed equipment only when the image review supports that description.

### Can supply be confirmed before the final selection?

An appliance category can have confirmed supply responsibility while its final selection remains unresolved. Record supply and selection in separate fields. Keep the unresolved selection visible in any approved public summary.

### Should a public example name brands or models?

Use generic appliance categories in public examples. Keep product identifiers and technical details in the applicable controlled project records. A generic example should not imply a recommendation or confirmed project selection.

### Who confirms product and plan coordination?

The responsible project roles must confirm appliance product data and related plan coordination before final approval. Record the coordination owner in the package sheet. This editorial worksheet supplies no technical requirements or installation approval.
